美国华人金融协会（Chinese Finance Association of America， CFAA），将于8月30日芝加哥市中心举行“创业讲座”，主办方将邀请资深企业家、会计师讲解相关创业话题。这将是一个同芝加哥华裔金融专业人士、企业界嘉宾交流联谊的良机，同时也将为创业者解答大家所关心的问题。
讲座主要内容将包括：一，公司所有制的选择问题，比如合作伙伴性质（Partnership），公司（Corporation），有限责任公司（LLC）的区别。二，选择不同公司所有制形式对保税方面的影响。三，非美国公民身份的创业者，其移民身份将对公司运营产生什么样的影响。
讲座具体时间为：8月30日，5: 15 PM 至 7 PM，地点为：Quarles & Brady LLP，300 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, Illinois 60654 ( 40th Floor)。讲座入场收费：提前登记，CFAA会员每人8元；非会员每人13元；当天临时登记参加者每人18元。

Terrence W. Stein
Partner & Co-chair of Private Equity/Venture Capital Group, Quarles & Brady LLP
Mr. Stein is a senior partner of Quarles & Brady LLP. He practices in the Tax Group and is the co-chair of the Private Equity/Venture Capital Group. Mr. Stein focuses his practice on federal and state taxation, with particular emphasis on domestic and international taxation, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, joint ventures, spin-offs, restructurings, redemptions and related transactions. He advises public and closely held companies, including corporations and affiliated groups, joint ventures, partnerships and limited liability companies. Mr. Stein was formerly in charge of the tax department and a member of the Executive Committee of a leading Chicago-based law firm.

Pete is the Midwest Region’s International Tax Services Leader at Grant Thornton LLP. Pete has over 25 years of experience working with multi-national companies. Pete’s responsibilities have included overseeing a large corporate tax department, management of client service teams and projects, and all aspects of corporate tax planning and implementation.
Industry experience
Pete began his career in public accounting, eventually serving as a Senior Tax Manager with Deloitte & Touche. In 1995, he joined Waste Management Inc., a $10 billion multi-national company, where he led the Tax Counsel and International Tax Group. In 1999, Peter joined KPMG LLP, as a Partner and member of the International Tax Practice Group. Subsequent to KPMG, Peter was Senior Vice President - Corporate Tax, for H&R Block Inc.
